Programming: best practices
August 22 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Modern Languages Building (MLB), Room 2001A
This workshop will introduce participants to several good programming practices. Topics include: proper use of identifier names and comments; self-documenting code; modularization; use of tests and assertions; debugging, profiling code; and version control. For demonstration purposes, we’ll use the Jupyter notebook as an environment. Short examples of applications in other languages (such as R and Matlab) may be provided.
